Susan Hallowell, PhD (Director) has served in several key technical and executive positions throughout her 40-year career in the US government in the area of detection of illicit substances (explosives and chemical warfare agents). 16 of those years were in management, with the Federal Aviation Administration (4 years) and the Department of Homeland Security (12 years), located at William J. Hughes Technical Center of the Atlantic City International Airport in New Jersey. Susan holds a Ph.D. in Analytical Chemistry, sensor development, from the University of Delaware and she is a senior executive fellow from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
